General Questions

Is it free to list on Outpost Exchange?

Yes. All users list services and equipment free. The 2.5% fee only applies when a contract is signed.

What can I list?

Services (contracting, skilled trades, general labor, professional services) and equipment (vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, power tools, materials, shop equipment, fleet assets).

Is the facilitation fee refundable?

No. Once charged, the fee is non-refundable.

Privacy & Contact Information

How does contact information privacy work?

Phone, email, legal name, and business address are never publicly visible. Shared only after a contract is fully created. Pre-contract communication happens through in-app messaging.

Can I share my contact information in messages?

Outpost Exchange monitors messages to detect contact info sharing before a contract is created. This ensures all agreements go through the structured contract process.

Trust & Reputation

How does reputation work?

Your contract history is your reputation. No star ratings, no algorithms. Completed and Resolved stay permanently. Disputed and Failed roll off after 365 days.

What happens during a dispute?

Either party can dispute. A 14-day resolution window opens. Unresolved disputes auto-fail.

What if the scope of work changes after the contract is signed?

Outpost Exchange supports Change Orders on active contracts. If additional work is needed — which often happens after on-site assessment — either party can initiate a change order. The process follows the same structured signing workflow: customer signs first, contractor signs and pays a 2.5% fee on the price increase only. You don't need a perfect estimate upfront. Scope can grow with the job.

Account & Platform

How do I verify my identity?

Phone number verification via SMS during registration. One account per phone number.

Can I use Outpost Exchange on the web?

Yes. PWA-first platform. Any browser, any device. Add to your home screen for app-like access.
